• Journey Kidz

We want your child’s best friends to be friends at Journey. We pray that they will be able to show all their friends, wherever they go, the love of God. In order to help facilitate this, we want to partner with your family. We see Journey Christian Community as the light (yellow) and your family as the heart (red) of our logo. When the two combine they create orange. We believe that “two combined influences make a greater impact than just two influences”. We want you to use us as a tool to help your child’s relationship with God. Our children’s ministry only has 40 hours in a given year to influence a child’s life-but YOU as the parent have 3000 hours to influence a child’s life. So use us to help!

Our curriculum is developed by The Rethink Group. Nursery-Pre-K classes follow a different theme each month and our Kindergarten-5th classes explore a different  virtue each month. To learn more about your child’s class, please click here. You can also learn more about our curriculum at www.whatisorange.org.

As we strive to teach your kidz about God, we know, no one can influence your kid as much as you! Our desire is to encourage you on your Journey with your family and give you tools along the way. As you pick up your Pre-K at the beginning of each month, be on the look out for Small Talk Cards, a great tool, to connect what they are learning at church to home. For your K-5th grade, look for their God Time cards weekly. If you have any questions, please email Lesly Yerger, our children's pastor.

  • Parents' Day Out (PDO)

The Journey Parents' Day Out Program serves children and families in the China Spring  and surrounding communities. We offer a Christ-centered environment for children who are confindently walking to 5 years old. Our mission is to build a Godly foundation for all children. Our vision is for PDO to be an advocate for parents in nurturing their children spiritually and academically.

During the fall and spring semesters, PDO follows the China Spring ISD school calendar. A summer program is also offered. We meet Tuesdays & Thursdays from 9:30 - 2:30.

For more information or to schedule a tour, please email Brittany Ochoa, our PDO Director.

  • The Bridge

It's called "The Bridge" because it serves as a connecting point between Journey Kidz (our children's ministry) and the Passage (our student ministry). At our Sunday gathering each week, our 5th & 6th graders are invited to engage in worship with Journey and then head to their own discussion and activities during the message. Adam Beckman, our youth pastor, leads this ministry and works to help the students connect outside of our Sunday morning gathering as well.

  • The Passage

The Passage is our student ministry to junior high and high schoolers. We meet every Sunday (6:00-7:00 PM) & Wednesday (6:30–8:00 PM) in the Passage building at Journey. The Passage is an amazing place to experience great worship, in-depth teaching, and be connected with other students. Our mission is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ by creating environments where students prioritize their relationship with Christ, influence their friends, and experience personal ministry. Our hope is to help students:

    1) Connect - We believe that life change happens through the power of the gospel. We also believe that relationships are an avenue for the gospel. It is our aim to connect students through Christ-centered relationships with other students and with caring adults who will motivate them in their relationship with Christ.

    2) Grow - In all ways — intellectually, physically and spiritually — this can be an exciting season of growth for students. It is our hope to produce followers of Jesus by deepening their knowledge of God through Bible study, memorization and meditation.

    3) Give - Jesus came not to be served, but to serve. Fighting the cultural obsession of personal entitlement and consumer consumption, we hope to raise up a generation of servants. Students more concerned with giving than getting and more focused on serving than being served.

  • Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recover is a recovery program aimed at all "hurts, habits, and hangups." It uses both the 12-step program developed by Alcoholics Anonymous, but also 8 principles developed from Jesus' Beatitudes. You can find more detailed information about our Celebrate Recovery ministry here. If you still have more questions, email the office and we'll connect you to this ministry.

  • Prayer

We are a people who are growing in our dependence on prayer. We long to see people experience the freedom of true life with the Father. We realize that this freedom is his work! And we are humbled and honored to call on him to move. If you have a word of praise or a request for yourself or others - we would like nothing more than to stand with you at the throne of God. We currently have three active expressions in our Prayer Ministry:

    1. Sunday AM Prayer Partners - standing with people in prayer (for healing, confession, intercession & thanksgiving) during our Sunday morning gathering.

    2. Intercession Prayer Team - lifting up requests throughout the week

    3. Healing Prayer Team - addressing where the Kingdom of God needs to break into the lives of his people in physical, spiritual or emotional ways.

If you would like more information, please email the office and we'll connect you with this ministry.

  • Worship

Psalm 33:3 reads, "Sing to Him a new song, play skillfully, and shout for joy." This is an important verse for what we do with worship at Journey. We may sing a lot of new songs, but the Psalms and other parts of the Bible call for new songs. Our worship team will always offer their best in worshiping the Father, not because we think it's a concert or a performance, but because excellence is exactly what God deserves, and it's our way of thanking Him with the gifts He gave us. Lastly, we hope our worship has plenty of energy and enthusiasm. Sure, there will be quieter times of mediation, but there ought to be shouts of joy too.

We hope you’ll join us soon for worship at one of our Sunday morning Gathering times. If you have any questions, email W.G., our Worship and Discipleship Pastor.
