We are a non-denominational church seeking to be a community of believers in the midst of the disconnected. On June 13, 2004, we began as a small group of 14 adults who had a vision to reach the community around us. We started meeting at the China Spring Elementary School for worship on Sunday mornings in December 2004 with about 75 people. On January 29, 2005, we celebrated our Grand Opening and grew immediately
to 150 people.
The Lord continued to bless us with growth and resources, giving us the opportunity to purchase the True Value Hardware building at 10424 China Spring Hwy. We remodeled this building and began to use it for our Sunday morning gatherings for worship, children’s ministry and other community events. Our first Sunday in this building was March 26, 2006.
We have continued to remain extremely committed to reaching people in China Spring and the greater Waco area who are disconnected from God and from God’s people. As an outgrowth of this heart for the disconnected, we launched our first church plant, Journey Lorena, on January 29, 2012. Journey Lorena was launched an independent church that carries with it our same heart for the world and the desire to tear down barriers in order to connect people to God.
The Lord continues to bless and amaze us with both spiritual and numerical growth, as every year more disconnected people find a community of Jesus followers. Our commitment to the advancement of God’s kingdom led to a second church plant, Journey Elgin, launching in September 2014. This multiplication movement continued, when we partnered in a third church plant, Catalyst of Austin, in 2016.
We are always amazed at what God does in his kingdom. We are constantly looking to celebrate the life he brings both in us and outside of us. And we can’t wait to see what he will do next!
